Digital receipt glossary
Customer-friendly definitions for the current TerraGridTech receipt, POS and Wallet journey.
- Activation code
- A controlled code used during an approved Merchant POS setup. It is not a POS connection key and should be handled only through the supported activation flow.
- Business receipt proof
- The merchant-facing record of the receipt facts issued for a completed sale, kept separate from a customer’s personal Wallet notes.
- Connection test
- A zero-credit check that confirms whether approved POS connection access is accepted before creating receipts.
- Digital receipt
- An electronic record of a completed sale that can be delivered without relying only on a paper slip.
- Electronic receipt
- A general term for a receipt delivered or stored electronically; on this site it does not imply a specific email or payment-provider format.
- Idempotent retry
- Retrying the same intended receipt with the same operation reference so a delay does not automatically become a second receipt.
- Merchant POS
- TGT Merchant POS, the current app used by approved businesses to create supported digital receipts and customer QR codes.
- Paperless receipt
- A digital receipt delivered without a parallel paper print. The term does not mean the entire service has no material or energy impact.
- Personal Wallet metadata
- A customer’s own category, label or notes for organising a saved receipt; it does not rewrite the merchant’s receipt proof.
- POS connection key
- A secret credential for an approved POS client. It must not be placed in URLs, receipt fields, screenshots or public code.
- POS system
- The point-of-sale hardware and software a business uses to complete billing and related store operations.
- Receipt claim
- The supported step in which a customer saves an already-created receipt in TGT User Wallet.
- Receipt code
- A customer-facing code associated with a supported receipt claim; it is not a merchant connection credential.
- Receipt credit
- One unit of an active receipt plan used when a supported receipt is created. Connection testing and Wallet claim use no additional credit.
- Receipt QR
- A customer-facing QR that opens the supported claim journey without exposing the merchant’s POS connection key.
- Thermal paper
- Paper with a heat-responsive coating used for direct thermal printing. Formulations and local disposal instructions vary.
- User Wallet
- TGT User Wallet, the Android app in which customers can claim and organise supported digital receipts.
